My wife and I have been looking for the right place to retire and we're considering two very different geographic locations: Florida and Puerto Vallarta. The similarity between the two places is warm weather, sunshine and ocean. Once we visited both places, we learned an important lesson. Florida is where people go to die and Mexico is where people go to live. In Spanish that statement is muy verdad! Doing research on realtors, we got several recommendations about Tropicasa. We met Jorge Guillén in early September on a short trip to our favorite resort in PV. Jorge took us to 4 properties and kept in touch with us until our return visit the following January. When we reconnected, Jorge had our day planned to the minute. We looked at several properties which were all very good and in our budget. It was apparent that he understood what we were looking for in our dream home. We immediately fell in love with what would be our new home: Casa Santa Valentina. The best part of our experience in finding our dream house is the Tropicasa team. We actually became friends with Jorge and Maria O'Connor. Anything we needed they never hesitated to help and have been especially patient to our constant dumb questions. The support team has also been amazing. People like Laura and Anahi kept us up-to-date on all the preparations and made our lives so much easier. Jorge Guillen was recommended to me from a friend about how good he was as a realtor all the things you want to hear, nice, efficient, honest and hardworking. Although we had been looking for a condo in Nuevo Vallarta for some time, as Americans, we were somewhat apprehensive about purchasing. We knew as non- Spanish speaking people, there would be hurdles to overcome, paperwork and different laws to decipher, and lingering questions. Along came Josie Gonzales from Tropicasa. She allayed all of our fears, actually encouraged us, and guided us through our purchase of a “brand new, still under construction” condo. She was literally the driving force behind our decision to make an offer. Josie's assistance went way beyond what we would ever expect a realtor to provide at anytime let alone when we had only purchased a small Mexican home, not a big American style condo. We needed some light work done as well as major construction and Josie lined us up with a handyman and contractor, both of whom were awesome. As foreigners with little to no Spanish or knowledge of services, Josie literaly took us by the hand to help us get electrical and water, property management, and a myriad of things that we required. We started coming to puerto vallarta about ten years ago. We immediately fell in love with the city and its environs. About three years ago, we began contemplating the purchase of a home in pv. We did, indeed, purchase a lovely home on playa los muertos. The bad news is that our real estate agent was not josie gonzalez. If josie had been our agent at that time, we would have avoided many problems with our purchase. However, the good news is that josie is now the only real estate agent we will ever use. I was immediately smitten with josie. She will be selling our current home in about a year. She was instrumental in finding us a new home in a prime location, which we will move into in about two years. Josie is a very shrewd negotiator, to our great good fortune. With respect to our new home, she dealt directly, not only with the developer’s real estate agent, but most importantly with the developer himself, as well his architect. The Tropicasa team made our condo purchase smooth and [mostly] painless! Tropicasa I love my studio condo that I bought looking out over the river. I appreciate the extra effort that went into my closing and assuring a clear deed. Some other owners were not so lucky and their deeds are in question because of problems with the developer at my condo. I insist that any of my friends that are looking to buy in PV use a good buyer agent with an in house lawyer. My experience has convinced me that Tropicasa is the best.

Alfredo sold my partner and me our Calle Sta. Barbara home 6 years ago and we've referred him to other buyers ever since. You will receive excellent customer service from the whole team, and have fun in the process! The process is quite different than purchasing in the US.
